Countries where IE3 is mandatory

As of January 1, 2017, all 2, 4, and 6-pole asynchronous motors with a power rating of 7.5 kW or higher that are put on the market in the European Union, Switzerland or Turkey must meet the requirements for efficiency class IE3.

With a few exceptions, asynchronous motors for this power range may not be put on the market unless they meet the energy efficiency requirements.
