The dynamic synchronous servo drive systems from SEW EURODRIVE are

capable of meeting the tough demands related to the performance of the

drive elements. These systems increase the productivity of the machine

as well as of the process. For example, the CM series meets the demanding

cycle times as high as one hole for every four second with an overall

SEW EURODRIVE offers dynamic synchronous servo drive systems, which meet the

Extreme angular acceleration values as well as highly accurate positioning and speed settings require drives with the smallest possible circumferential backlash (as low as 1’) and high tensional rigidity. The best solutions for this area are low backlash planetary, helical and helical-bevel gear units in conjunction

with highly dynamic servomotors.

 

Kunkel-Wagner India well known for its automatic molding equipments world wide realized the increased productivity in its new high speed vent piercing machine. This machine drills holes in the mould engine castings. With the CM series of synchronous servos from SEW EURODRIVE the demand of high cycle times as high as one hole for every four second with an overall positioning accuracy of 0.1 per cent in a span of 600mm was achieved.

Integrating systems

The drive system supplied by SEWEURODRIVE includes the following:

 

■ Servo Motor Model – KAF47RCM90S/TF/RH1M/KK

■ Inverter Model – MDX61B0040-5A3-4-0T

 

There is one each for X1, Y1 and X2, Y2 coordinates per machine. Movidrive MDX61B inverter with technology version is used together with Profibus interface DFP21B. Ready to use application module ‘Positioning via bus’ integrated in Movidrive performs the complex positioning activity by receiving the coordinates from Profibus. The PLC stores hundred different recipes used by more than 1,000 different variants of moulds. Each Movidrive receives its coordinates from the bus and positions the geared servo motor in the desired position within two seconds. The ramp and speed is dependent on the coordinates and present machine position. In-position feedback is given to PLC for drilling after positioning thus maintaining total cycle time of four seconds per drill. Movidrive inverter with its integrated intelligent IPOSPlus capability was able to perform dynamic and precise positioning tasks each in X and Y axis taking off the complex programming sequences from the high level automation system.

 

IPOSPlus positioning and sequence control system makes no compromise when it comes

to precision because it uses the exact and highly-dynamic control properties of the

drive inverter. The user can set the programming to either windows programming or high

language. IPOSPlus is fast and flexible. This allows for diverse movement controllers, which can be tailored by the individual requirements of the system. The variety of options available in Movidrive means that the system can be extended at any time in accordance with the modular concept.

 

Information technology is becoming increasingly important in industrial systems.

Technical product data should be called up at every PC in the company at the touch of button. Horizontal communication between controllers and application takes place through the simple physical medium.

 

Movidrive offers interface for variety of communication protocol’s in the industry via

PROFIBUS, DeviceNet, CANbus, INTERBUS and ETHERNET fieldbus interface Modbus

TCP, PROFINET IO and Ethernet/IP.
